Welcome to my homepage! My name
is Ronny Nordqvist and was born autumn 1966
in a small town called Kristianstad. The town is located in south of Sweden.
My interest in gameplaying started in the arcade halls outside Kristianstad.
The greatest arcade halls were in south of Kristianstad in a place called
Åhus. But there was a problem I was only 13 years old and you had
to be 15 to play :( . The only possiblility was to bring my parents :(
.
My computer interest started in
1982 when I started
high school. ABC 80 (Swedish computer by Luxor) was my first encountring
with a computer. This moment changed my hole life, I changed from a normal
kid into a computer freak. Computers was in my mind day and night. When
I was awake I was sitting infront of the schools computer, and when I was
asleep I was dreaming about a computer of my own.
Autumn 1982
I got my first computer of my own, a ZX Spectrum 16K. After a week I upgraded
to 48K (out of memory :( ). I purchased all magazines I could get to learn
more about programming. You can find some of my games for download at the
Spectrum page they are not the best (what can
you expect from over 10 years old games).
In 1984
my school got ABC800 computers with 80 characters screen! One even had
a color monitor (wow! ). I converted one of my Spectrum games, "Blaster"
and created a scrolling car game to this computer.
In 1985
I graduated and started to work, I joined the company's computer club.
There were 2-3 Commodore 64 available for home rent. After a while I played
Uridium this was an incredible experience,
arcade graphics on a home computer. After this I had to get a C64 of my
own. In the beginning I just played games, but after a while I started
the games only for the great music. After a long time of ripping music,
I wanted to use them, and my interest in demos started.
In 1986
I and Sal founded Software Of Sweden. When Amiga 1000 came to our town
we where totaly amazed, 4096 colors (HAM)!!
In May 1987
I was the first in Kristianstad to own a Amiga 500. Much happend in 1987,
PIQ and White knight joined us and our first Amiga demos were created.
At that moment all demos came from other countries, so we were early in
making Swedish Amiga demos. After a while I learned
68000 assembler at this moment this was something unique. Autumn this year
I was at my first copy party, in Furulund. Here we met new members of S.O.S.
This was the first time we attended in a demo competition. Dark overlord
(Kaktus) had coded this C64 demo. The music from the winner demo can be
found here. Later Dark overlord left us and formed
Kaktus&Mahoney.
1988
we held a copy party in Kristianstad. Groups like Vortex 42, Xakk, Front,
Kaktus&Mahoney etc were there. Kaktus&Mahoney won the demo party
(this was their last C64 demo). Later in 1988
I went to Vortex 42 party in Arvika. I won
the 5th place in the C64 demo competition.
I started to convert one of the
best Spectrum game to Amiga in 1989
called Atic Atac. The not finnished Amiga version
can be found here.
Last time I was at a copy party
was in 1990,
here I released our last Amiga Demos.
In 1991
I met my girl friend and my life changed for a
while to more normal. My good old friend Christian
(Beast) gave me inspiration for programming again. He was interested in
coding demos and intros on Amiga. After his first intro
he released his first game called SuperTron. Meanwhile
I released a pong game. I bought a CDTV and an
Amiga 3000.
In 1994
Christian bought a Pc but I bought both Amiga 1200 and Amiga 4000. At the
end of 1994 I
bought my first Pc, what a piece of junk, when I booted it all fuses burned
up! I sold it very soon.
In the spring 1995
I bought a new Pc. In May Christian Started to code Bubble
Pop. In the beginning we coded together, but after a while Christian
continued coding and I focused on designing graphics for the game.
At the end of 1995
I started my first try to convert Bubble Pop to Amiga, but I had not enough
time to finnish it.
1996
Software Of Sweden celebrates 10 Years fun!
In the spring 1996
we contacted a publisher for Bubble Pop, they
were very excited about the game but they went through a reorganization
so nothing happend :( .
1997
Realesed more games for the Amiga. BubblePop Memory. SuperTron97. Mattel
Electronics Battlestar Galactica Space Alert Simulator. Started my work
with the Amiga version of Bomb Blast. Made my first simple PC game Pong97.
1998 I
am still interested in programming. I will never sell my computers!
